Honestly speaking, I have never done an ePortfolio, let alone, create a website, in my life thus far and this happens to be my very first experience in doing so. I definitely encountered a few problems while doing so. Firstly, as I was clueless about doing a website, I had to navigate my way through getting the portfolio done which, was not an extremely easy feat as I had to redo some components several times. Redo the entire component, that is. This provoked a lot of frustration within me. Yet another challenge was that, all these while, though I did plan out my future plan in a mental-draft, I have not literally put it to pen and paper (in this case, fonts and layouts!) and due to this, I found it difficult to systematically put those future plans and goals into a framework that is able to be understood by all who visits the portfolio. However, more than the challenges, I am fascinated by the positive outcomes, which exist at large, more than the challenges. Firstly, the creation of the ePortfolio would definitely come in handy if I wish to find for a job. It would be an enhancement to my resume and it could broaden up my job options and allow me to move closer to my career goal. Secondly, my goals seem more concrete to me as it is visually put in front of me. This in turn has increased the motivation and determination within me to work towards my goals. Thirdly, as a person who has interest in art, I feel that I had been given the opportunity to explore and experiment in my creative area online. Finally, I gained the experience of creating a website and an ePortfolio. This is a lifelong skill I have achieved which, I hope to polish up and be proficient in the near future. I feel that I can also share and impart this knowledge to others. Overall, despite the challenges, I enjoyed working on creating my ePortfolio. An ePortfolio that reflects my individuality, as me; Hemalatha Sellvakumaran.
